Can I store my gold IRA at home?

A friend of mine just told me I could rollover my 403b and convert in gold or silver. I like the idea, especially in times like this. However, his financial planner told him he could store his assets in a safe at home. Is that true?

No, you cannot store your precious metals at home. It needs to be held in a US depository, the McNulty case made that pretty clear. In this case, a couple fought the IRS about storing their gold IRA at home and they lost.

No you need to store your precious metals in a depository, as james said as per IRS regulation.
